Just thought I'd post the little blurb I wrote for Orphan Aids next newsletter. If you are interested in getting the newsletter send an e-mail to Mike at mikeb@od.org and tell him you want to be on the mailing list!
"The counseling aspect of Orphan Aid has been available for the past 6 months at our Springside base. In that time we have seen 15-20 teenagers, gogo's and children benefit from it. Counseling is a new concept to most in the Zulu communities where we work and those who have been abused and traumatized are gladly taking advantage of having someone to speak to. Many of the older women (gogo's) benefited greatly simply by having someone show an interest in them, concern for them and their struggles, and listen to them for an hour a week. The simple act of love can do wonders for those who are broken. We have also seen 5 young teenage girls freed and delivered from demons and choosing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!!!! We have seen instant transformation in some of them with three of them being freed from and leaving a homosexual lifestyle. One of them who comes from horrible abuse and who has been in counseling weekly has come to a full healing in Christ and is now witnessing and telling her peers at school about Jesus, praying for people to get healed, and seeing Jesus moving through her! Praise God for the work He is doing and those who have been freed, delivered, and made whole."
